The Customer

The Iowa Health Information Network (IHIN) is Iowa’s official statewide health information exchange (HIE), and has applied for IRS 501c3 status. 673 participating sites represent the full spectrum of providers:

  • Hospitals, clinics, physicians and post-acute care facilities

  • Behavioral, home and public health entities

  • Pharmacies and labs

  • Community service providers, such as dieticians, physical therapists, drug rehabilitation programs

These organizations access a rapidly growing database currently containing records on over 772,000 patients. The state legislature privatized IHIN several years ago.
