Last week a number of school students visited our NZ offices and talked to our staff about what it’s REALLY like to work in the tech industry. Through these visits students were able to engage with a variety of staff to gain a deeper understanding of the different skills and roles within the IT industry.
On Tuesday, Ainsley, a student who’d previously visited us with her class through Futurteintech event, came back to talk to a range of women who work in tech at Orion Health.
On Wednesday we had Zach back! Zach won the 2015 Codeworx Challenge with his Water Worx entry. He too spent the day talking to a team of Product Directors, Security experts and Implementation Consultants about what they do and the products they work on.
On Friday we had two 2015 Bright Sparks winners visit our offices, Nathan in Christchurch and Sophie in Auckland. Nathan had previously won our Highly Commended Award for his entry in the 2014 Codeworx Challenge. He spent the day with product development teams attending sprint demos and scrums (very Agile!) and met our recent intake of Graduates.
Up in Auckland, Sophie (and her mum) shared the touching story of Sophie’s Web App with a range of experts looking at user experience, product management and similar products and solutions out in the market place. Sophie’s application helps people with brain injuries assess their progress.
