Increasing Speed-to-Value Through an Agile Approach

December 21, 2017
Stella Ward (Canterbury DHB), Hamish Franklin (Green Cross Health), Sarah Walmsley (Orion Health) and Darren Douglass (Ministry of Health) at the 2017 HiNZ Conference in Rotorua. Sector partners Canterbury DHB, Waitemata DHB, Green Cross Health and Orion Health accepted a challenge from the Ministry of Health to collaborate and self-fund an innovation project to leverage the existing information, capability and expertise within the sector. Partners worked in a non-traditional way to create an integrated dataset from disparate primary and secondary care sources in a single data platform. The project tested a new approach for collaboration, adopting relevant industry standards, incorporating open APIs, and hosting the solution in the cloud; enabling analysis to surface the value propositions for the combined dataset.
